Going to Dog Camp

  • Fun and Games
  • camp

A dog camp provides some of the best fun you and your dog could ever have. Not just for dog fanatics, dog camps are wonderful opportunities for people to bond with their beloved pets and learn more about dogs in general. And the good news is that your dog needn’t be professionally trained to attend.

Requirements

As long as your dog is friendly toward other people and animals (and it obeys the simplest of commands), the both of you are welcome to attend a three-day, weekend, or full week dog camp.

Type

Some camps concentrate on specific activities while others combine a bunch of activities together. So you and your dog may enjoy an assortment of serious training, luring, herding, hiking, Frisbee, or even swimming. Some additionally offer classes on nutrition and natural holistic care.

Sign me up!

Your veterinarian should be able to provide some good leads on a few dog camps in your area. If not, he'll probably know a few local trainers who can. Of course you can also find them listed in dog magazines, perhaps the classified ads, and or simply through word of mouth.
